Letters From My Grandparents

May 21, 2010

I was going through some things yesterday and I came across some old letters. I realized they were a pile of letters that I had received from my grandparents on both sides of the family. I still have them forty years after they came in the mail. Most of these letters didn’t contain any great words of wisdom, nor were they sent for a special reason other than the fact that I was someone’s grandchild and they thought I might like a letter.

I have a tween and her life is full of text messages and emails, but it is still that random letter that shows up in the mailbox that lights up her eyes. So if you have a child in your life, no matter what the age, sit down today and write a letter to them. Who knows? They may still have it forty years from now.
