Trash to Treasure – Part 2

July 30, 2010

I remember laughing at my dad because he had a pair of glasses everywhere you looked. There was a pair by each chair, the bed, the toilet and in his car. I didn’t get it at the time, but I have slowly started my own collection as the eyes are slowly becoming older.

The problem is once again this becomes stuff that we don’t part with because we know they cost a lot of money so we just keep them. I have had a pair of old glasses sitting on my dryer for probably three years now. They don’t work for anyone in my family and yet I don’t throw them out …it’s time to pass them on.

I have always known that the Lions Club collects glasses but I have never really looked into what they do with them…check out this site  http://www.lionsclubs.org/EN/our-work/sight-programs/eyeglass-recycling/the-need-for-eyeglasses.php

Makes me realize that for three years I have been causing someone else to go without. Shame on me.
